2014-Present

Founder of the Susan Gitau Counselling Foundation

In 2014, I founded the Susan Gitau Counselling Foundation (SGCF) with a mission to provide affordable, accessible, and trauma-informed mental health care. Since then, the foundation has grown into a safe haven for survivors of violence, vulnerable youth, and communities in crisis across Kenya.

2010-Present

Championing Mental Health Advocacy Nationwide

For over a decade, I’ve led campaigns and training sessions across Kenya to raise awareness about mental health, break societal stigma, and equip leaders, teachers, and parents with psychosocial support skills. My advocacy work has reached schools, churches, prisons, and refugee camps.

2007-Present

Academic & Professional Leadership in Counseling

With a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, I’ve mentored future counselors, lectured at top Kenyan universities, and contributed to research and policy on trauma and psychological care. My work blends academic rigor with real-world impact, ensuring future generations are empowered to heal others.
